This study explored what directors perceive as therapeutic factors of psychodramas by using concept mapping research methods. Additionally, this study focuses on the perception of importance of therapeutic factors of psychodramas, and the level of practice in real world situations. Ten directors were selected and two dimensions and eight categories were drawn from the directors` statements. Directors rated the importance and practice level of psychodramas` therapeutic factors. The results of this study are as follows: First, the concept map of directors consisted of two dimensions and eight categories. Directors perceived the therapeutic factors of psychodramas as a "directors-protagonists" dimension and a "recognition-act" dimension. The eight categories were comprised of "relationship skills of directors," "protagonist`s belief of growth possibility," "working alliance," "role expansion awareness," "role expansion enactment," "acting out," "catharsis" and "group cohesiveness.". Second, the results of ratings on the importance of therapeutic factors of psychodramas appeared as M=4.29 and the results of ratings on the level of practice were M=3.72. Third, a gap between the importance and the practice level of psychodramas` therapeutic factors was found to be .57. In the case of directors, the categories of "relationship skills of directors" and "protagonist`s belief of growth possibility" showed the largest gap with .85, and the category of "group cohesiveness" showed the smallest gap with .37. Psychodrama was considered to be a therapeutic factor of verbal counseling, but this study explains psychodramas` therapeutic factors through empirical analysis.
